This beautiful Spanish town was founded i the year 1217, so its has a rich history, as you can see several places, both within the dunes and on the top of the city where you find the castle. Fine sandy beaches stretches 11 km from the marina to La Mata. You find a nice promenade a long the beach with many nice restaurants, or maybe you want to enjoy a day at beach just by your self. The quality of the restaurants in the city is very good and they have traditional Spanish dishes or even your favorite from around the world. There are also excellent sporting facilities here: football pitches, basketball courts, athletic tracks, indoor football pitches, tennis and fronton courts. There is also an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor hated swimming pool here. The marina offers a a wide variety of nautical and water sports, diving courses or fishing competitions. Guardamar offers a wide range of cultural activities. Throughout the year the cultural centre offers exhibitions, concerts, theatre productions, films, dance and conferences. There are also open air musical evenings in the Reina Sofia Park Auditorium.
The dunes, shaped from sand washed up by the sea stretch along the length of the coastline, from north to south. Over 11 km of sandy beaches. Guardamar´s beaches are defined by an extensive costal area of 800 hectares of sand dunes covered in pine, eucalyptus and palm trees. Where you can have nice walks in the sunset or maybe take your dog for a run in the forest. This is just a beautiful town on the Costa Blanca.
